Diamond Way Traveling Teachers

Since 1972, Lama Ole Nydahl has been traveling tirelessly and teaching thousands of students from all cultures and backgrounds. Many of his students have now also gained the necessary knowledge and experience of the Buddhist teachings (in addition to having an exciting and well-rounded life in the modern world) to share in the work of teaching at different Diamond Way groups and centers around the globe. They also teach at public events in the community and on elementary, high school, and university campuses as guest speakers.

These "traveling teachers" come from all walks of life, different colors, shapes, sizes, and professions. Though different in appearance and style, they are all very gifted and inspiring teachers, not only for Buddhist students but also for all people looking to lead healthier and happier lives. Throughout the year the Diamond Way Buddhist Centers host these teachers for lecture tours and extended courses worldwide.

Inviting a Teacher to Your Campus

If you are a student or professor and would like to invite one of these teachers to your campus please contact our traveling teacher coordinator. Her email is : Karin@diamondway.org; Put "Inviting a Traveling Teacher to (your university and city)" in the subject line, and let her know when you would like the teacher to visit. The two of you will then work out the travel plan together.

Teaching Topics

The first public teaching on campus is normally a general introduction to Buddhism covering the three levels of Buddhist teachings, Diamond Way view and meditation, and how people in the West can integrate these teachings into their daily lives. All lectures end with a question and answer session and a guided Tibetan Buddhist Meditation. University professors looking to invite Buddhist teachers to speak in their classes can choose any topic they would like and can contact the teacher personally to work out the format of the lecture to best fit their class, time restraints, rules and regulations, etc.
